It is important to me to take opportunities to help my community. Through volunteering, I find that I experience growth on a personal and professional level and most importantly, it feels great to give back.
Volunteering at One Spark was an idea I got from my UNF pre-internship class. I was able to get trained and volunteer Monday through Saturday of the festival in 2015 for a total of 23 hours. I was a creator liaison and helped attendees sign up and vote for their favorite creators. Details about my experience are on my blog. I learned so much and had a great time!
I signed up my family as fosters for Golden Retrievers in January 2014. We have successfully cared for and helped to place three males and two females. Each dog has a special place in our heart and it has been a tremendously rewarding experience helping connect dogs with their forever homes. It is important to us to serve these pets together and everyone helps to feed, bathe, walk and snuggle each dog to ensure that they join their adopted families as happy and well-adjusted as possible.
