I am a senior majoring in public relations at the University of North Florida with four years of experience in corporate marketing as a public relations coordinator and social media content creator. My professional memberships include Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and American Copy Editors Society (ACES).
My professional skills include content writing, copy editing, event planning and social media management including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and Pinterest.
Creating business and marketing content allows me to give voice to a brand or event. I have experience creating brochures, advertisements and mailings. My writing experience includes paid feature articles printed in The Florida Times-Union and Realty-Builder Connection. I have also covered events for my church and my daughter’s school that have been accepted and printed in the Mandarin Newsline.
As a copy editor, I thoroughly enjoy reading through the writer’s voice and helping to fine-tune and shape the grammatical elements of a piece. I feel this last-eyes effort is an important and trusted responsibility.
Event planning is an enjoyable hobby for me and one of my favorite workplace responsibilities. I have been involved with planning weddings for friends and family and have co-chaired the dance committee at my daughter’s high school for three years. In a professional capacity, I have worked as part of a marketing team for annual sales meetings of 600 attendees and awards ceremonies for 300 attendees.
One of my favorite ways to spend time online is by managing my social media accounts. Finding just the right time and content to post to complement the personalities of each social media platform is exciting and rewarding.
